European biology Long-Term Fellowships
The EMBO Long-Term Fellowships are awarded for a period of up to 2 years and support post-doctoral research visits to laboratories throughout Europe and therefore the world*. International exchange may be a key feature within the application process. All fellowships must involve movement between countries. The receiving institute or the applicant’s nationality must be from one among the EMBC Member States.
Eligibility
Main eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must hold a doctorate degree or equivalent at the beginning of the fellowship. Applicants who already hold a PhD degree at the time of application are eligible to use as long as they passed their PhD exam within the two years before the respective application deadline Applicants must have a minimum of one first author publication accepted in press or published in a world peer reviewed journal at the time of application. All applications must involve movement between countries.
- The receiving institute or the applicant’s nationality must be from one among the EMBC Member States. Applications to travel to the country during which the PhD was obtained won’t be considered.
- Applications for a Long-Term Fellowship to be held within the laboratory, institute or department during which the candidate worked to get his or her PhD, or to figure again with the candidate’s PhD supervisor, regardless of where the latter is found , won’t be considered.
