Chongqing local government Mayor Scholarship Eligibility
1. The applicant of non-Chinese citizens wishes to be a degree student (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctoral degree) or a non-degree student for a minimum of one school year in Chongqing.
2. The applicant of a non-Chinese citizen who has already studied at the universities of Chongqing for quite one semester and needs to pursue a degree (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctoral degree) in Chongqing for a minimum of one year.
3. Applicants are in healthiness and pass the physical examination in statutory medical institutions of China.
4. Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have a master’s degree, and be under the age of 40.
5. Applicants for master’s degree studies must have a bachelor’s degree, and be under the age of 35.
6. Applicants for bachelor’s degree studies must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25.
7. Applicants for non-degree studies must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 45.
8. Students who have won other scholarships aren’t eligible to use for this scholarship.

First-class scholarship:

Second-class scholarship:
Candidates Standard (RMB/year)
Doctoral students 20,000
Master students 15,000
Undergraduate students 10,000
Non-degree students 8,000
PS: The length of funding should be but the traditional period of schooling. Scholarship winners must pay the corresponding application fee, tuition fee, accommodation fee, and medical insurance fee before enjoying this scholarship.
Chongqing local government Mayor Scholarship Materials required
Applicants are required to submit the subsequent application materials in three sets.
1. form (Contact the schools in Chongqing)
2. Highest notarized diplomas and transcripts (notarized photocopy in Chinese or English if the documents aren’t written in Chinese or English). Applicants who are students currently studying at Chinese universities shall also provide a Study Certificate and transcripts from their host institutions.
3. Study plan (written in Chinese or English).
4. Two letters of advice. Applicants for master’s or doctoral degree studies shall provide two letters of advice by school or employer (written in Chinese or English).
5. University admission notice.
6. Copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
7. Copy of passport.

How to Apply for Chongqing local government Mayor Scholarship
Applicants shall submit application materials to the International Students Admissions Office of the university by post. Applicants who have passed the initial phase of selection are going to be forwarded to Chongqing Municipal Education Commission for ultimate approval. Please note that the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission doesn’t accept application materials directly from applicants.
