European biology Short-Term Fellowships
Short-Term Fellowships fund research visits of up to 3 months to laboratories in Europe et al. within the world. There is no deadline for applications, however it’s recommended to use three months before the proposed starting date. Applications received or completed only after the beginning of the visit won’t be considered. The application process is handled via the web application system. The Receiving Institute compliancy Form and two private letters of reference (one from the present supervisor) must be sent to the EMBO Short-Term Fellowship office by email.
CV of the candidate, and especially research experience. Quality of the project to be developed within the host laboratory (novelty, feasibility). TValue of the exchange for the laboratories involved (collaboration, co-publication).
Eligibility
- Applicants must move researchers at any stage in their career with a minimum of 1 year of research experience at the PhD-student level. EMBO Short-Term Fellowships are awarded for research exchanges between laboratories in EMBC Member States, Associated Member States or Cooperation Partners.
- EMBO Short-Term Fellowships aren’t awarded for exchanges between two laboratories within an equivalent country. Only in exceptional cases will EMBO Short-Term fellowships be awarded for research visits outside the countries listed above.
- Applications from outside EMBC Member States, Associated Member States or Cooperation Partners won’t be considered. Applications for the exclusive purpose of coaching during a technique instead of as a component of a wider scientific research , won’t be considered for funding.
