It is a part of an attempt to create a replacement inter-disciplinary field of civic studies, getting to develop ideas helpful to citizens. The notions of civic ideals, civic competence, civic society, civic culture and passive resistance all capture in various ways the attitude of this emerging field.

Eligibility
- Applicants should be from one among the subsequent countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
- The working language of the Summer Institute are going to be English.
