Brief description:
The Asian Institute of Technology is offering the Japan Government scholarship for a 1-year Master’s course of study in Marine Plastic Abatement, a replacement Master’s course of a study launched in AY 2020 (August 2020 start), designed to coach a replacement generation of Asian environmental leaders and leaders from developing countries, to combat the ocean plastic litter problem through advanced technologies and sound management practices. The scholarship is funded by the Japanese government. this is often one-time support.
As the top 6 countries within the world that discharge the foremost plastic debris into the ocean are in Asia, this scholarship serves to empower young Asian practitioners, social entrepreneurs, officials, and professionals who can play significant roles within the marine plastic abatement, which may be a key for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This scholarship from Japan is to support the “MARINE Initiative” unveiled at the G20 Osaka Summit in 2019, aimed toward reducing additional pollution by marine plastic litter to zero by 2050.
