Brief description:
With Talent for Governance, The Hague Academy aims to enable young civil servants from developing countries and Eastern European (non-EU) countries to participate during a specially designed Talent for Governance programme.
The Programme generally consists out of 4 components that are all connected by an overall theme: a two- week training course at The Hague Academy for Local Governance, a week-long internship at a Dutch municipality, networking activities and therefore the back home action plan.

To apply for the Talent programme, candidates got to choose one among the subsequent programme themes:
• Citizen Participation and Inclusive Governance – Programme from 5th March 2018 to 22nd March 2018, (more information about the training course a part of the programme)
• Local Service Delivery – Programme from 18th June to 5th July 2018, (more information about the training course a part of the programme)
• Local Economic Development – Programme from 1st October to 18th October 2018, (more information about the training course a part of the programme)
Number of Awards:
The number of placements will depend upon the funds and internship placements in Dutch local governments.

Young civil servants working for government during a developing country
Scholarship value/inclusions:
The Talent for Governance programme covers the value of tuition fee, travel costs, accommodation and most living expenses within the Netherlands. the skills are asked to contribute 150 Euros towards the programme costs.
Eligibility:
Application is feasible if you:
• work for an area government (not an NGO or private enterprise);
• add one among the countries listed on the DAC country list;
• be 37 years aged or younger once you apply;
• have a minimum of two years of labour experience in local governance and
• have the intension to figure there for a minimum of two years more;
• speak and understand the English language well (all programmes are in English);
• be ready to write down and orally defend your motivation for and relevance of the precise programme;
• be ready to identify an issue/project as a true-life case within the theme of the programme that you’ll write a Back Home Action Plan during the talent programme;
• have written support of your employer to participate within the programme and to implement the rear Home Action Plan once you return home.

Upon successful application submission, you will receive an acknowledgement and electronic payment receipt. Keep it safe as a reference and wait for the outcome. Scholarship Council Canada team will take care of your further process upon qualifying.
