University of Technology Sydney Symbiosis in the Ocean international awards
Why study at the University of Technology Sydney? The University of Technology Sydney has a strong reputation for teaching and research and is an innovative and inclusive university. A number of courses and graduate programs are applicable to majors and provide them with world-class facilities and practical experience.
However, our understanding of the ecological interactions that occur between these important groups of marine microbes is woefully inadequate. This project will involve the application of cutting-edge approaches spanning oceanography, microbial ecology, molecular biology, and chemistry to generate critical new knowledge about the occurrence, mechanisms, and impacts of phytoplankton-bacterial symbioses in the ocean.
To encourage and support the education of Australian students, the university has announced the establishment of the International Prize for Marine Symbiosis. The program is open for the period 2021-2022. The University of Technology Sydney is number one in the world and tenth in Australia. It was established in 1988 and is also recognized as one of the world’s foremost young universities.
