Brief description:
The London School of Hygiene and medicine (LSHTM) is inviting UK/EU students who wish to enrol within the AY 2020/2021 MSc Public Health programme, to use for the Wellcome Trust Master’s Studentship (MSc Public Health). One studentship is going to be awarded per annum for 3 years.
The Wellcome Trust Master’s Programme Awards in Humanities and science scheme aims to create an influential and diverse population of talented researchers within the humanities and social sciences so as to enhance the understanding of human health. The scholar is required to follow a humanities and science ‘pathway’ through the MSc Public Health scheme. this may involve taking modules in humanities and science disciplines and using 1 or more of those approaches within the MSc project.

Scholarship value/inclusions:
The studentship will support:
- Tuition fees at the house (UK/EU) full-time fee rate for 1 year
- Tax-free stipend of £17,000.00 (including London weighting), paid bent the awardee directly in 12 monthly instalments
- Expenses for fieldwork of up to £1,040.00 (MSc project)
Eligibility:
Applicants must be individuals who are planning a career in health-related humanities or science research. As this studentship is competitive, candidates should hold, or be expected to carry by 1 September 2020, qualifications of an equivalent standard as an honest honour initially or upper second class level from a UK academic institution during humanity or science discipline. Applicants also are expected to demonstrate experience in health-related humanities or science research.
The studentship is merely available to applicants who are assessed as having a UK/EU fee status, consistent with the regulations that began on the UKCISA website. Applicants must hold a suggestion of admission for 2020-21 entry for the London-based (face-to-face) MSc Public Health programme at the London School of Hygiene & medicine by the studentship deadline of 29 April 2020.
