Carnegie PhD Scholarships for First Class Students in Scotland

This PhD scholarships for International students to be held at a Scottish university for school term. As long the potential candidate holds a primary Class undergraduate honors from a Scottish University, there are not any restrictions on nationality or residency for the PhD scholarships in Scotland. Each year, the Trust offers variety of Ph.D. scholarships to support graduates with first-class Honours undergraduate degrees from a Scottish university, who wish to pursue three years of postgraduate research resulting in a Ph.D. at a university in Scotland. In addition, the Trust will cover tuition fees at the Research Councils UK (RCUK) Indicative Fee Level for the relevant school year (universities are expected to waive any outstanding balance).

Eligibility

  • A student who has already commenced study for a search degree (MPhil, PhD or equivalent) isn’t eligible.
  • The candidate must be nominated by the potential supervisor of the PhD project and may only be submitted for consideration for a Carnegie or Caledonian PhD Scholarship by one Scottish university.

Scholarships are awarded 70%-75%
