Data61 is a Digital Dynamics Centre formed by the merger of CSIRO’s Digital Productivity business unit and the National Information and Communications Technology Authority of Australia (NICTA).

It is providing a world-class Ph.D. experience for qualified Ph.D. students working in data-related disciplines. Such that as analytics, cyber-physical systems, software and computational systems, and decision sciences.

Students work on real-world projects under the guidance of world-leading CSIRO researchers and university academics to deliver significant research for the national interest. Students have the opportunity to push fundamental boundaries in the ICT disciplines they work in, engage in real industry projects and undertake internships in Australia and overseas. data61 encourages and supports the entrepreneurial activities of our academics, providing opportunities to join our start-ups or even create their own companies.

Eligibility

• Applicants can be Australian or international students. They must have applied for or have started a Ph.D. research program at one of our 23 participating universities.
• Candidates must have completed (or be in the process of completing) an Australian first-class honors bachelor’s degree, or hold a degree with equivalent merit.
• The proposed research project must be consistent with Data61’s field of study.
• Candidates must be in receipt of a full basic stipend.
• Show your English skills with the IELTS exam.
