The Fully Funded Civil Society Leadership Award is for students who have excelled both academically and professionally and have the potential to become civil society leaders in their country. One requirement is that the candidate is dedicated and wants to effect positive social change in their community.
Maastricht University now announces the establishment of the Civil Society Leadership Award for students who clearly demonstrate academic and professional excellence and a deep commitment to leading positive social change in their communities.
Maastricht University, founded in 1976, is the largest international comprehensive university in the Netherlands.

Eligibility Criteria for Fully Funded International Awards
- Demonstrates maturity, flexibility, and civil society leadership potential.
- Have earned a bachelor’s degree with academic distinction as of May 2020.
- Demonstrate professional experience relevant to your chosen field of study.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction (English) to the level required for admission to Maastricht University.
- Be able to attend an intensive summer preparatory program in July or August 2021 and begin their degree program in September 2021.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a visa or study permit as required by the Netherlands; and
- Have a clear commitment to their home country or region and support the development of an open society.
