The School of History, Classics, and Archaeology is offering The Charles Mackay Scholarship for students studying at the School from undergraduate to graduate-level who will begin their studies in the 2020-2021 academic year. Mackay was the first such professor in Scotland and a true polymath who taught a kind of “world history” with a wide range of courses and research interests.
The School of History, Classics, and Archaeology have announced the establishment of the Charles Mackay Scholarship at the University of Edinburgh for the most meritorious and distinguished candidates. This award for education is available to international students starting a postgraduate program at the university in the academic year 2021/2022.

Eligibility Criteria for The Charles Mackay Scholarship
- The award will be based on the student’s academic performance and potential to excel in their chosen course of study.
- As the award is specifically designed to encourage undergraduates from the College to progress.
- With a 2.1 or first-class honors undergraduate degree.
