Fully Funded Lions Sports Academy Ph.D. Scholarship at Swansea University

The Lions Sports Academy was established to help children and young people to achieve their potential through sport, therefore it is achieved by working with schools and sports organizations to provide physical development and sports coaching programs.

However, it is an attempt to improve the ability and confidence of young people when playing sport. This includes the Lions Sports Academy’s ‘Rugby Tackle Programme’ which specializes in techniques related to tackling, rucking, and mauling.

Specifically, it will evaluate the impact of the tackling program on the contact skills of the participating children and qualitatively explore.

We are looking for a highly motivated Ph.D. student who is passionate about youth rugby and willing to immerse themselves in an applied research environment. The ideal candidate will be competent in qualitative and quantitative data collection and will be qualified to deliver and report on the results of a long-term, high-quality coaching program as part of the Lions Sports Academy team.

Eligibility

• Candidates should hold a minimum of a second class (2:1) honors degree (or equivalent), preferably with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Proven coaching experience in youth rugby.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Typically, we expect students to meet the academic and English language requirements
• Show your English language skills with the IELTS test.
