The Roland Bishop Award for Biomedical Engineering Research was established by the University of Queensland in collaboration with the family of Roland Bishop and carries a prize of up to $25,000. The award supports early career researchers undertaking innovative research aimed at developing medical devices or medical device technologies.
The main purpose of the award is to provide financial support and is available to high achieving aspirants who wish to undertake a research degree program at the University.

Eligibility
- You are currently an early career researcher, no more than five years post Ph.D., working in the field of biomedical engineering to advance the development of innovative medical devices or medical device technologies.
- Demonstrated academic achievement in the field of biomedical engineering
- Potential long-term impact following the development of biomedical device/technology
The likelihood of the research achieving its stated research results - The stage of research development and track record.
