Brief Description:
The Outstanding Peacekeeper Scholarship supports staff deployed during a United Nations peace operation to create their capacity by studying towards a postgraduate degree. It enables recipients to raised contribute to the effectiveness of the United Nations and to advance in their career. it’s available for various online postgraduate study programmes which don’t require travel outside of the mission area.

Target Group:
All staff deployed during a United Nations peace operation including UN Volunteers, national staff, police, military and civilian personnel, seconded staff, etc. It covers all fields from human rights to DDR, security and politics.
Scholarship Value:
50% of the complete tuition fees for the programme – up to USD 5,700. Recipients may pay the remaining fees in up to 3 instalments.
Eligibility:
The scholarship is out there on a competitive basis. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for the study programme and applications are going to be ranked consistent with the subsequent criteria: proven ability to implement activities associated with peace and conflict management, the relevance of degree for career advancement, citizenship of a developing country, low financial resources, no previous studies at the graduate level, years of relevant work experience, academic excellence. just in case of equal qualifications, female applicants and applicants from Least Developed Countries are going to be considered preferably.
