Brief description:
The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Awards are scholarships for international students from Southeast Asian countries who want to pursue postgraduate studies in New Zealand with the intention to help in the development of their home countries.

Levels/Fields of study:
Scholarships are available for the following level of studies: Postgraduate Certificate (6 months), Postgraduate Diploma (1 year), Master’s Degree (1 – 2 years), or PhD (3 – 4 years) except for Brunei and Singapore where only PhD studies are supported.
Preferred fields of study should be relevant to the development needs of your country (i.e. renewable energy, agriculture, fisheries, disaster risk management, natural resource management, health, and education). Find out the preferred subjects for your country.

Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam
Scholarship value/inclusions:
The scholarship includes full tuition fees, a living allowance (paid fortnightly), an establishment allowance, medical and travel insurance, travel between your home country and New Zealand at the start and end of your scholarship, home leave, or reunion travel for some eligible scholars, pastoral and academic support at your institution, and assistance with research and thesis costs for most postgraduate research students.
Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the following conditions to be eligible for a New Zealand Scholarship:
• Be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of commencing your scholarship.
• Be a citizen of the country from which you are applying for a scholarship and have resided in that country for at least the last two years.
• Agree to return to your home country for a minimum of two years on completion of the scholarship.

How to apply

Scholarship Council Canada has electronic application center, fill in the form and upload your documents. Upon successful application submission, you will receive an acknowledgment and electronic payment receipt. Keep it safe as a reference and wait for the outcome. Scholarship Council Canada team will take care of your further process upon qualifying.
